Food @ Camp

Ok, we normally don’t like to do so, but we have to brag a little bit here… We eat very well at camp! A lot of time, love, and energy goes into our animals and garden, which ultimately becomes our food. As you can imagine there’s a lot of pride and satisfaction that transpires when a meal is served, and we always show our gratitude before and after we eat!

Our Food Service Director brings decades of experience as a chef and a catering director to our program. He does a wonderful job of utilizing the farm to design menus that meet camper’s tastes while still providing wholesome, healthy nourishment.

Each summer we turn plenty of picky eaters into less picky eaters by offering a wide variety of foods at every meal. We eat our meals family style and our staff sit alongside campers encouraging them to eat a “delicious minimum,” meaning to try a little bit of everything on the table. Meals are an extension of our effort to grow community and we give everyone a seating assignment so that younger campers share a table with older campers and genders intermix. This allows staff and campers to get quality time with those they may not see throughout the day.

Sample Menu

Below is a sample menu. Please note that options are subject to change but this will give you a good sense for the meals at Farm Camp.

A vegetarian or gluten free option are made available at every meal, and our directors report to our kitchen each session to help them coordinate dietary needs. Plenty of choices are offered during our meals including fresh fruit and vegetables, a cereal bar and yogurt at every breakfast, and a peanut butter and jelly table is available at every lunch.

We have a bowl of fresh fruit that is available for campers on our dining patio whenever they like.

Food allergies are common and our menus are designed with most common food allergies in mind. If your child has a food allergy or you have questions regarding any special dietary needs please be sure to indicate so in your camper forms, and always feel free to give us a call in the office to talk more about it.
