Health and Safety

The health and safety of our campers and staff is our top priority. We are accredited by the American Camp Association and we adhere to their strict guidelines. Plantation Farm Camp has an excellent safety record. Camper's health and safety is stressed at our Staff Training Week and we always have a registered nurse on our staff. All counselors are certified in Red Cross First Aid/ CPR and AED and some staff are also certified as lifeguards. In the event that a child suffers anything more than a minor injury or illness, the nurse will contact the camper's parents or guardians.

Our Infirmary is located in the center of camp and is staffed around the clock to address any camper or staff medical needs. Staff are encouraged and rewarded for extra medical certification including EMT, WFR, Advanced First Aid, and Advanced CPR.

Plantation Farm Camp works closely with the local police, fire departments and the Health Department to be certain that we are doing everything possible to ensure the well-being of all of our campers and staff. Redwood Coast Medical Urgent Care in Gualala or Memorial Hospital (Santa Rosa) as well as Sutter Hospital (north Santa Rosa on River Road) are available if required.
